Yes. Here are some basic guidelines for all participants of Cadence's marketplace:
- If you are staying in a hotel, meet your Interpreter in a hotel lobby, not a hotel room. All meetings with your interpreter should be held in public places.
- The customer can relax at his or her own discretion, but the interpreter is working whenever they are with the customer. Do not under any circumstances coerce the interpreter to drink alcoholic beverages.
- If travelling with the Interpreter, the customer is fully responsible for the costs of the Interpreter's travel and lodging. For lodging, the Interpreter must have his or her own private room and under no circumstances will sharing of rooms be allowed. Furthermore, the Interpreter should stay at the same hotel as the customer unless separate accommodations are both feasible and acceptable at the Interpreter's sole discretion.
- For intercity travel such as trains and flights, the Interpreter must be on the same train or flight, though they do not need to be on the same fare class.
We want to make it absolutely clear that there is a zero tolerance policy for any solicitation, whether implied or explicit, for services that are not of a professional nature and for any coercion, whether implied or explicit, of drinking alcoholic beverages or ingesting any harmful substances.
